William H. Rush aged seventy-six died Thursday night at the home of his grandson, Glen Ford, in Elwood. Death, resulting from injuries received on Thursday of the previous week when he was in the company of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Ingraham, the horse which they were driving along the streets of Elwood becoming frightened and throwing the occupants out, and aged man being hurt so seriously that his death followed. Mr. Rush resided in Howard County for a numer of years and was quite well known in the northeast part of this country. He is survived by three children, they being Mrs. Luella Ingraham, Mrs. Ida Fisher, and Clifton Rush all of Elwood, Mrs. Sarah E. Clem, of Cicero and Mrs. Laura Bragg of Windfall are sisters, Anderson Rush, of Windfall and Loren Rush, of Kokomo are brothers. Burial services were held Sunday, being held at the Hazel Dell Church near Windfall at 2:30 o'clock.Reported September 1, 1919, in the Tipton Daily Tribune.
